Walk the Walk is a grant-making breast cancer charity, founded 21 years ago by Nina Barough CBE, who is now the UK’s leading Power Walking expert.
The charity specialises in Walking Challenges, ranging from family 10k distances to 100k and everything in between. People of all ages and abilities take part in these challenges, wearing Walk the Walk’s trademark brightly decorated bras.
Apart from raising money and awareness for breast cancer, Walk the Walk is passionate about encouraging all Supporters and Walkers to look at ways in which they can make daily choices which will support good health and well-being. For many people, taking on a Walk the Walk challenge really is a life-changing event.
The MoonWalk Scotland 2018
The MoonWalk Scotland is one of Walk the Walk’s flagship events and will be taking place for the 13th time on Saturday 9th June 2018. Thousands of women and men will once again walk through the streets of Edinburgh from Holyrood Park at Midnight, completing one of four challenges: New Moon (6.55 miles), Half Moon (13.1 miles), Full Moon (26.2 miles) or Over The Moon (52.4 miles).
Walkers make their way past some of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks, including Edinburgh Castle, Lloyds on the Mound, Arthur’s Seat, Calton Hill and St Giles Cathedral.
The MoonWalk Scotland has raised an incredible £20 million since 2006, with most of the money staying in Scotland to help improve the lives of people with cancer.
