Our most frequently asked questions

How does the daily goal setting work?

Each week you will be set a daily step goal. On week one of the challenge this will start at 6,000 steps. You can change this on your

Profile page or on your Dashboard in the Challenge Progress section, open the week and click the Change Goal tab.

At the beginning of week two you will be asked if you want to adjust your daily goal based on your first week’s step totals. You can update this, or stick with your original goal. Each week your daily step goal will be increased or decreased depending on how you are doing.

You can always change your step goal during a challenge if it’s too high, or too low.

Remember to go at your own pace.

If you have bought a single team, or your coordinator has invited you to be a team captain, you can now invite some team mates.

Login to your profile. Click on the Team tab and then click Edit Your Team. Enter the email addresses of your team mates, one at a time, to invite them to join your team.

They will be sent an invite email asking to login and join your team.

You can invite up to four team mates.

How do I reset my password?

Go to the login page and click on ‘Forgot your password’. Enter your email address and click Send Reset. An email will be sent to you with instructions on how to reset your password.

If you can’t remember which email address you used, or haven’t received the password reset email, check your junk folder and if it’s not there either contact us.

Can I change my team name?

Yes. The team Captain can do this. They need to login to the website, click on the Team page and then select Edit Your Team. They will be able to change the team name there.

Can I change my workplace name?

Yes. The team Captain can do this. They need to login to the website, click on the Team page and then select Edit Your Team. They will be able to change the workplace name there. If there are lots of teams from your workplace taking part in the challenge, it's a good idea to use the same spelling of your workplace, so you can filter the leaderboard by workplace.

How do I record my steps?

You can record your steps using a pedometer or step counter, smartphone app or activity tracker.

If you are buying your own pedometer, we’d recommend that you shop carefully. We have found that cheaper pedometers aren’t always accurate, have poor battery life, build quality and if they don’t have a safety leash can be dropped or lost. All of this can be really frustrating.

If you use a smartphone you’ll find a range of free pedometers in your app store or you may even have a pedometer already on your phone. Many apps free and they can provide accurate information without having to use another gadget. Obviously, you’ll need to carry your phone about with you at all times to make sure you count every step.

How do you convert a yoga session to steps?

For yoga, we convert the time you've spent doing your activity into steps. We estimate that 1 minute of yoga is the equivalent of 45 steps. For example, if you did 20 minutes of yoga, your steps would be calculated in the following way: 20 minutes x 45 steps per minute = 900 steps.

How do I delete activity?

If you have entered the wrong step count and want to delete it, login to your profile and click on the Activity tab on your menu. There is a table listing all of your activity. To delete the unwanted data, click the red X at the end of the row.

How much walking do I need to do?

We want you to increase your physical activity, but at your own pace. We should all aim to be active every day. 150 minutes (2½ hours) is the amount of time we should be taking part in moderate physical activity each week. This can be broken up into spells and something is better than nothing. Even a 10 minute walk at lunchtime can make a difference.

Moderate intensity physical activity includes walking as well as things like gardening, dancing alongside sport and exercise. As a general rule of thumb you should:

  • Feel slightly warmer
  • Breathe a little faster
  • Feel your heart beating a little quicker
  • Still be able to hold a conversation

If you start to feel unwell when walking or if you have any concerns speak to your GP or health professional.
